I would like to welcome everyone back as the second semester of school begins. I hope everyone had a happy Christmas Break. Students returned to school on January 5. Due to weather cancellations just before the end of the last semester, the high school Character Counts trip was postponed. This event was rescheduled for January 7. Students who were elible to go went to Paris to watch “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” at the Parisian Theatre. Students returned to school to eat pizza delivered by Cavi's, a newly re-opened local restaurant. For a student to be eligible to go on the trip, they must display good behavior in the classroom and be approved by the teaching staff.
The basketball season is slightly over halfway done. So far, the girl's record is 11-4, while the boy's is 5-10. Both teams have been playing hard and look to finish the season strongly. The teams will travel to West Carroll on January 12, to Lake County on the 13th , and play in an intense rivalry match-up at home against Greenfield on the 16 th .
There will be no school on Monday, January 19, in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
